This is my life. It can be odd. But I like it.

And I still haven't packed

Hello All

This month I appear to be on the road a bit. Starting tomorrow at 7:00am!! And why am I awake still? Silly Kayle.

My dad has business in Calgary so mom and I are joining him. We'll see some good friends in Calgary while he is having a meeting and then we'll drive to Medicine Hat to hang out with Grandma for a while. I hope to see some Eagle's Nest folks as well as I have not seen them in a while.

So this entry will be short and sweet. And in case you are wondering... that is where I am this time around.

Love you guys!

Kayle.

Let it be

My new friend Casey and I took this picture in Ottawa a couple weeks ago. Sometimes a long blog entry just doesn't matter...

Reality

I love to read. I read a lot. Maybe not in volume, but in time. I read everyday. Sometimes one or two pages. Sometimes a few chapters. But I do like to read everyday. There are treasures to be mined out from those pages, you see.

There are snippets of lines that cause your mind to spin, and if you're good at it, you can follow that spinning into a whole different world. Maybe one that existed already. The world of your emotions and memories. Sometimes the words will spin you into a whole now world of imagination and the magic held therein. God just might be waiting to show you something -- only if you let him.

I have been reading this one particular book over the last month or so. It's not a long book, but its a good one. It's not an overly spiritual book, but the impact on my life has been great. It is touching me in a way I did not expect.

"The Longing for Home" by Frederick Buechner. Maybe you should go out and buy it. Maybe read it now. Maybe read it later. But have it ready. There will come a time when you will need a book to sit down and read. Not a mind-candy book, but one you can chew on. Not a book to learn anything, but one that you can experience. A book with little snippets that jump out and capture your heart, your mind, your soul.

Kind of like this line, "...a joyous, spontaneous, self-forgetting response to the most real aspect of all reality..."

Spin, my soul, spin. Capture the fire held in such a set of words and run with it.

I had the priviledge of talking with a few of the people who have affected my life in the most profound ways today. I talked with some Wiedricks over in Ontario. Their love changed my life. I talked with a Chris Quilala down in California. His friendship left me never the same. Both continue to do so.

In my heart I see a joyous, spontaneous, self-forgetting response to the most real aspect of all reality when I think of them. I do not have a memory of something that was, but I have an experience of that which is. Both showed me an aspect of reality that I carry deep within my heart. The fire there keeps me warm.

Ottawa Recap

Hey All

You can check out some Ottawa recap action via the Siege Blog. I did an interesting entry that starts off with a Gandhi quote. We'll see how the religious like that.

And because I don't really feel like writing and writing, I'll leave you with pictures. Because pictures are worth 10 bazillion words.

This is Canada's Senate. It's a rather stately room, appropriately called the Red Room.

These are the doors we have been told we will never cross. Why? Because what you see is the floor of the government of Canada. This is called the Chamber, or the House of Commons where the Members of Parliament debate and basically run the country.

This is us sitting on those chairs you see behind closed doors. Yes, that's right. We were informed that we were the first group to sit on the chairs, even before the 39th Parliament of Canada has sat on them. You'd better believe we were praying our brains out. And you'd better believe walking on that carpet was a dream come true!

A rare, empty hallway of Parliament. I thought this was beautiful and was able to snap a picture as we walked by.

The ambassadors get a whole train of cars for one person. We get a whole train of people for one van. Can you believe we got all of those people, plus the photographer into that van... repeatedly?

Travel Fun to Ottawa

Hey All!!

I might not be able to update for the next little while. I'll be in Ottawa again doing about the same as last time if you recall. Pray for us please!!

We had an awesome night tonight of welcoming home Geordie and Stef, Stef's b-day party and then some unexpected, but very awesome prayer for us in Ottawa! Yay to all who were there.

Gotta keep this short as I need to finish my packing and be off early in the morning.

Hopefully I'll have internet access and if so, then I'll post some fun stuff.

I speak massive blessings to you in our wonderful Jesus' name!

It Happened Again

It happened again
The dream that haunts me
Returned
I woke up this morning and didn't want to be here
Moments before I was home
Worries faded
Joy was there
I held my friends and I cried
The tears could not stop
And I didn't care
I was home
It happened again
The dream that haunts me

48 Is Done

Well...

I'm stealing away a few moments before I leave the home of Devon and Kristi down here in Taber, Alberta. Thankfully the sun is shining and it is super warm outside, so there will be lovely dry highways all the 6 hours home.

I can't believe what happened this weekend. It was rather unexpected. I lead "worship". The musical, band side of things. I do this fairly often at home in our small group, but in a setting with microphones and all that it is a little different. I rather enjoyed myself.

Last night was wild. They stuck a mic in my hands and for the first time ever I just stood there with an entire band and well... I felt funny. But then I decided I could stand there and feel funny or I could go for it and see where we end up. Let's just say I went a little "Suzy Wills" if you know of her. Spastic, all over the place... but I was not going to go through this session without giving it everything I had in order to have a power encounter with the Holy Spirit.

I wish you could have been there. It was so incredibly fun. I've never in my life done anything like this before and I think maybe that helped. I only had two options. Feel really stupid or throw caution to the wind and explode.

It's fun to explode.

Anyway... last night was really special to me. I'd write more but I have to get in the Mumby Mobile and pilot myself back home.

This Post is for you!

Yeah... I dedicate this post to Dave Onishenko. I really have no reason to. So there.

I was more then pleased the day after I arrived in Taber to find the sky bright and blue and everything melting. Why didn't I just stay an extra day in Red Deer? WHY!!??!?!?! Then while we were all sitting at Devon and Kristi's table Devon starts making phone calls to ask people to pray for the safety of all the people coming to the Pure 48 thing this weekend. Yeah. You're a day late on that.

We had a good laugh about that.

We are also laughing about this strange mystery coffee someone gave to Devon and Krisit. It is from Jerusalem. Devon and I tried making some yesterday afternoon. Let me be the first to tell you that whatever is in that bag is definately NOT coffee. It is brown cocaine or something like that.

We made a pot of it. Literally. Boiled a bunch of water and steeped the coffee in the pot. Only the coffee doesn't smell anything like coffee. It doesn't look anything like coffee. And it really doesn't taste anything like coffee. By the end of our experience I was sure that what was in the bag was actually fertilizer for growing the coffee.

We drank maybe a quarter cup each of this stuff and within a few minutes were flying high. Seriously high. I have never gotten hit with a caffienne rush ever like that before. And after only a quarter cup of it!! I only stopped drinking it because the taste was so strange and the smell even worse.

Yeah... pretty freaky stuff. That's all I have to say. But if you want to get a great deal of work done sometime... get this stuff. You'll be ultra productive for a few hours before you come crashing down again.

The Pure 48 event starts tomorrow night. I have the strangest speaking/ministering times I have ever been given during a conference thing. 11:00pm-1:00am tomorrow evening. 7:00am-9:00am the next morning. 3:00pm-5:00pm that day. 5:00am-7:00am the morning after that.

Uhhhhh... to say I was confused as to what they actually brought me down here for would be completely accurate. We'll just see where all this goes. I am glad that the YWAM crew from Eagle's Nest is going to be here because we already flow so well together and I want to force them to come to all my times so we have a blast. In the past we've had insane times with Jesus in settings like this, so I'm happy.

This time is really just for seeking the presence of God, so I suppose it doesn't matter what time it is... all I want is more of Him, so let's all go together. In fact yesterday afternoon I was praying for this weekend and I got totally surprised by the presence of the Holy Spirit. As in I got totally ROCKED for the better part of an hour. Yeah... so this weekend... I'm expecting good things. I don't know what to expect, but I do expect it to be awesome.

Well... I think I'm going to get that "coffee" chemical tested now. We'll see what Devon and I just put into our bodies.

Until next time... fall more in love.
